Halos sweep Bosox

August 22, Fenway Park

Boston took a 2-1 lead into the top of the 8th thanks to 2 Carlton Fisk solo HRs and Lynn McGlothen's fine pitching. But the Angels managed to rally off the Red Sox bullpen, stringing together 4 hits and 2 walks, including an Adam Kennedy triple and Mark Trumbo double.  By the time the dust settled LAA had scored 5 times. Rickey Clark (2-0) picthed into the 8th inning for the win, and Troy Percival the rest of the way for the save.

August 23, Fenway Park

A 6-run Angels outburst in the top of the 4th inning broke a scoreless tie. Mike Trout's 3-run HR was the big hit of the inning. Frank Tanana (2-1) goes 8 inning allowing only 1 run for the win. Al Nipper (0-1) took the loss. Bob Rodgers and Walt Dropo also hit solo HRs.
LAA 9, BOS 1

August 24, Angel Stadium

Garrett Anderson's bottom of the 9th pinch hit walk-off double off Dick Radatz scored Wally Joyner with the only run of the game, giving Los Angeles the sweep of the series.  Dean Chance pitched well for the Angels but didn't last long aenough to get the win, which went to reliever Jose Arredondo (2-0).  Red Sox starter Frank Sullivan pitched 8.1 brilliant innings of 5 hit, no walk, 8 strikeout baseball, but ran out of gas in the 9th.
